Hong Kong Phooey (Hanna-Barbera):

Featured Pendry Pooch, Spot (his cat, that mysteriously had a stripe along his back), The Sergeant and Rosemary the switchboard operator.

Pendry would change into his alter ego HKP inside a filing cabinet, would balls everything up and Spot would ALWAYS save the day.

Jamie and the magic torch (Cosgrove-Hall):

This I firmly believe was the G-Man in a past life. Jamie would be put to bed and by the usage of his "magic torch" and his trsuty pooch Wordsworth would open a portal to another land and escape the trivialities of life for a while.

Secret Squirrel (Hanna-Barbera):

Secret Squirrel would always be given a mission by the imaginately named "Chief" (must have taken all night that one!)... sod off in his flying car with his side-kick Morocco Mole and save the world.

Trapdoor (Cosgrove-Hall):

Birk (our trusty hero) was a kitchen servant of "Him upstairs" (another one that must have taken all night).

Anyway, something or other would always come up through the trapdoor in the kitchen to scare the living *lol* crap out of Boney (the skull) and Birk would spend the whole episode trying to get it back into the trapdoor.

Withnail And I (Handmade films):

What can I say... If you have ever seen the opening scene of this film you would appreciate just how alike to Myself and Lex this film is. (by the way Lex, are there any more sentient beings in the kitchen)

Monkey (?):

Had to include this... only the Japanese could make a series about a re-incarnated mystical monkey (Monkey); fish (Sandy); pig (Pigsy); horse (Lu Yung) and an obviously female [male priest] (Tripitaka) questing through the wilderness.
